About Us
Winnam Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders Corporation (“Winnam”) is an enterprising community organisation that is a holistic service provider for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Wynnum and Bayside suburbs of Brisbane. These are within the boundaries of the Quandamoooka country areas.
The organisation was incorporated in 1990 and has been growing steadily ever since.
Winnam also manages an aged care facility that is for, but not limited to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island People – The Georgina Margaret Davidson Thompson Hostel in Morningside, Brisbane.
Our Vision is for Winnam Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to live healthy and happy lives in the community.
“Winnam ‘ is an Aboriginal word for the Pandanus Palm, once abundant in this area.
